About the Roman Catholic Religious Order of the Oblates of Jesus the PriestThe Oblates of Jesus the Priest

Who We Are

Who are the Oblates of Jesus the Priest? We are a religious community of women, founded in 1937 by the Venerable Father Félix de Jesús Rougier, M.Sp.S. We practice a "Spirituality of the Cross" which teaches that we are saved by love alone.

Our order supports the priesthood in all its forms, through work in seminaries, in diocesan offices, and parishes. We have houses in the United States, in Menlo Park, CA (near San Francisco), New York, NY, Chicago, IL and Mundelein, IL. We also have houses thoughout Mexico and a house in Rome, Italy. We are governed by a General Council made up of women from the order. We live a common life of work, song and prayer.
